This weekend the elite of the CrossFit community are going to be battling it out @ the Home Depot Centre in California at the 2010 CrossFit Games This event has grown progressively bigger each year as the popularlity of CrossFit grows worldwide, the first CrossFit Games was open to anyone who wanted to compete on the day, last year saw the introduction of Regional Qualifiers, this year saw a further Sectional level of qualification introduced making it even tougher to earn a spot at the Games. This is also the first year the Games wont be held at the Ranch in Aromas, having outgrown the space they will now be held at the Home Depot Centre which has hosted events such as the X-Games (which gives you an idea just how big it is).
The event will be being streamed live over the weekend via the wonders of the interweb, we’re trying to sort logistics so that we can be showing at least some of the games live over the weekend on a projector at the gym (if you have a projector, let me know…) To keep things a bit more interesting we’re running a sweep at the gym, $5 gets you in and you get 1 male and 1 female competitor, buy in as many times as you like, all the cash divided up for 1-2-3rd placed males n females. Names are in a hat at the gym and there is a whiteboard so pop up who has what competitor (no you can select mikko salo..)

Kristan Clever is absolutely smashing all the workouts….but are they going to do a gender test?
Was amused by the coverage of heat 3 WoD 1. The commentators and cameras focused exclusively on Mikko and the big Amercian names. In the back of shot Chris Hogan ripped through it and finished ahead of OPT and Khalipa. Not mentioned at all.
Chad McKay was 7th after the 7m AMRAP. Aussie aussie aussie!
