Ever hoped and dreamed for the opportunity to see if you could run up Adelaides tallest building (not saying much really…) fastest than anyone else? Well that opportunity is now available with the Westpac Stair Climb firing up on Friday October 8th. Its 30 floors and 135m straight up, Ive never actually been to the top and I dont mind going up stairs so thinking it could be a bit of fun. Its meant to take less than 15mins to blast up there so not a bad chance to test out a bit of aerobic capacity. Its $25 to enter and individuals run from 3:30pm. There is a team event available if anyone is keen to chase someone else up there.

The guys at CrossFit Newcastle are putting on a stomper event 30-31st October – The Made of Steel Challenge . Its looking like one of the biggest CrossFit events seen yet in Australia with up to 350 competitor spots available. Its set to be on the foreshore at Newcastle and the venue looks sensational, if you head over to the Made of Steel link there is a video with more info about the event there. If your planning to compete at the CrossFit Games next year then this is an ideal lead in event to see where you training is currently at, otherwise if your not so serious it will simply be an awesome weekend with a chance to bump out 4-5 workouts with some other CrossFitters and hang out. Be good to have a few people from CrossFit Adelaide saddle up and make a bit of a weekend out of it. Ive chucked my name down for it already, if your vaguely thinking about it then sign up asap as I think they are at half capacity already and the event was only announced recently.
Get into it!

Kelly Starrett the resident CrossFit mobility guru has just lauched a mobility blog with a daily dose of goodness to help you systematically work thru all the tight, twisted and balled up bits that CrossFitters generally have. It only takes 5-10mins a day, its only been up for a day but the idea is sensational and Ill definately be keeping an eye on it and look at posting it up at the gym each day.
Its UltraFit magazines 25th Anniversary, the magazine has been showing a lot of support for the CrossFit community recently and in turn to give a bit back and to help celebrate the anniversary affiliates around the country are going to be knocking out this little beast..
